Sexual harassment is any unwelcome sexual advance or conduct on the job that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment. Any conduct of a sexual nature that makes person uncomfortable has the potential to be sexual harassment. The Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act mandates every organization to define their sexual harassment policies, prevention systems, procedures and service rules for its employees. Recent reports claim a rise in the number of cases registered for sexual harassments at the workplaces. Devise and implement an equal opportunities policy and ensure that it states clearly that there must be no discrimination or harassment against any employee or job applicant on grounds of sexual orientation.
Prevention of Sexual Harassment

- Identifying who should victim contact to discuss harassment questions or concerns
- Assuring that they will not be punished for asking questions or sharing their concerns
- Ensuring that managers understand their responsibility to stop, address and prevent harassment.
